Simulation of Sedimentation Velocity Data with SViMULATE

Chad Brautigam · Monday, 24 August 2026, 11:15 – 13:15 · Session 2
Room 101260

Experimental planning is very important when considering and AUC experiment. Simulation of expected results can help drive good decisions and save the time and expense of redoing an AUC experiment. In this workshop, the background and basis of the software SViMULATE will be covered. The software lowers barriers to simulating sedimentation velocity data, allowing quick and interactive simulations that can be outputted for later analysis, if desired. Models covered in the workshop include normal boundary modeling, interacting systems, band sedimentation, and nonideal systems. Participants wishing to participate in demonstrations should expect to install the software and data on a Windows laptop.
